Premier Parry to meet with Nationals in North America

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS, Tuesday, October 12, 2011)  Nationals and Friends of Nevis residing in Toronto, Washington D.C, New York and Connecticut will have the opportunity to hear from Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry about the progressive projects and programmes taking place on the island.

The Premier is slated to leave Nevis for Toronto, Canada on Friday, October 15th.  While there he will attend the Canadian based Nevis organization NEVCAN dinner dance on October 16th and then host the first of a number of town hall meetings starting with the  Carnegie Centennial Center in Toronto at 6pm the next day.  

Accompanying the Premier will be Deputy Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Hensley Daniel, Junior Minister responsible for Trade and Industry, Hon. Dwight Cozier and Advisor to the Premier, Mr. Llewellyn Parris.

Premier Parry will address matters related to Education, Tourism and Finance among other issues, while Mr. Daniel will deal with Health, Culture and the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP)-led Nevis Island Administrationís programmes on Social Development.

Hon. Dwight Cozier will discuss Trade and Business Development in Nevis and all the programmes initiated by the government to assist the small business sector on Nevis.    

In Washington, D.C, the town hall meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 19th at the Hilton Silver Spring from 7pm. The next stop on the tour will be New York at the St. Lukeís Church in the Bronx on Friday, October 22nd,  that meeting will commence at 6:30pm. The final meeting will take place on Sunday, October 24th at the Antillean Center in New Haven, Connecticut from 5pm.      

During the Town Hall meetings, a short power point presentation on the islandís development in Agriculture, Roads, Tourism, Health, Investment, Water and Geothermal among others will be shown.

There will also be DVDís and pamphlets distributed to the audience outlining the NRP-led Governments achievements since taking office on July 10, 2006.

The Premier said he is always pleased to meet with Nationals who reside overseas, as it gives him the opprotunity to listen to their opinions, concerns and questions, which he believes, in some cases, can assist with Nevisí movement in the right direction.
